This project, in partnership with Ngāti Tukorehe is a collaboration between iwi, independent artists and researchers, students, a scientist, academics and mentors. The purpose of the research was to advance understanding of regionally specific plant dye colourants towards sustainable textile practices. Te Muka Taura is a research group where the work is relational and therefore the way in which we relate together and with the environment has significant influence over the research and who it benefits.
